Mike Ladd : Father divine
Wednesday 3 December 20080
Mike Ladd will without a doubt be counted as one of the artists who held a great influence on his times. Mike produces an unclassifiable music, in the good sense. Rock, soul, spoken word, blues, punk, psychedelic, all mixed up in a Hip Hop bath coming with percussive texts and a totally unique analogic production. He is to many people Beck’s musical black equivalent.
This album has a political value. Father Divine was a religious leader, who campaigned against the segregation in the US during the 60s.
But this album also is a tribute to the ROIR label’s sound in the 80s.
To be brief, Mike is a multi-faceted and multi-talented artist.
