Media Records UK’s 1000th Catalogue release!

To celebrate the first summer of releasing that Big In Ibiza sound, and parent company, Media Records, 1000th release (An accomplishment worth celebrating by any standards!) the new Big In Ibiza imprint from the same team behind UMM (Underground Music Movement) present their scorching new summer compilation, Ibiza Anthems 2008.

Following up last year’s # 1 iTunes dance album Bii unveil 10 of their hottest, most upfront, exclusive mixes and anthems including the freshly unleashed and ridiculously huge beast of a bootleg, Picotto vs Papini, ‘Gonna Get Ya’. A mixture of one of Dance music’s most infamous vocals in Mauro Picotto’s classic, ‘Gonna Get Ya’, mashed up with one of the years biggest underground club anthems, Daniele Papini’s ‘Church Of Nonsense’. Already masses of support from Claude Von Stroke, Dubfire, Mark Knight, D.Ramirez, Fergie, John Digweed, Marco V, Sander Van Doorn, Tom Stephan, Dave Spoon and more!

Other tracks on the compilation include the No.1 Music Week & DMC Club Chart topping summer smash, Connected Ft. Max’C ‘A Feeling’. The Mark Doyle (Fierce Angel / Hed Kandi) championed Bassmonkeys’ remix of the US garage anthem Tito Puente Jnr ft. India, ‘Oye Como Va’ kicks off the live DJ Mix before dropping into the sundrenched Nu Disco sound of No.1 DMC World Chart and No.2 Music Week Club Chart hit, Love Assassins ‘Teardrops’. Big In Ibiza legend Fonzerelli unveils the massive new J Scott G & Anthony Ross Dub on his killer rework of Guru Josh’s ‘Infinity’ and Andy BopH the rising star making a name for himself with the likes of Carl Cox and Paul Van Dyk presents his newest work in the form of the spacious ‘Flash’.

Newcomer to the Big In Ibiza roster, Chris ‘MiMo’ Jones, gets behind the buttons for his own Tech mix of his debut solo single, MiMo. A track which includes vocals stabs from one of the world’s most established DJs and has also seen support from some other of the world’s big names including Sander Kleinenberg amongst others.

The icing on the Big In Ibiza cake is the Dylan Rhymes remix of The Angry Kids vs Bob Marley ‘Mr.Brown’. With its fully cleared sample over 1400 spins and 15 million impressions on Canadian Radio this #1 Canadian Club Chart record has shot The Angry Kids to stardom achieving #1 House, #1 Techno, #5 Electro & #84 overall act in Canada on the MySpace charts! And #69 House act worldwide on MySpace charts, a fantastic feat!

With over 20 years experience in DJing, writing, producing, singing, events promotion, management and more DJ Fubar has been there, seen it, done it, rocked it and still continues to reek havoc on dancefloors worldwide with his insatiable appetite for pleasing crowds and entertaining.

Voted “1999 Coca Cola UK DJ of the Year” and having spun for Ministry Of Sound, Cream, Godskitchen, Miss Moneypenny’s, MTV, Judgement Sunday, Sundance at Pacha, Space, Es Paradis, Gatecrasher and the legendary BCM old Skool nights Fubar has a varied and extensive DJing career. A far cry from his two-year stint with the navy where, he chuckles, “I did parties on the flight deck of the Ark Royal and I did parties in all the little clubs and bars of the ports we visited. And when I realised you could get paid for doing it I thought – I’ve got to get out of the navy and do this.”

Andy BopH - The Andy BopH EP

Andy BopH is most definitely a rising star in Dance music and having already received support from the likes of Carl Cox with the release, ‘Rat Trap’, and other DJs including Paul Van Dyk and Jonathan Ulysses, the follow up, ‘Business Lunch’ and now these bangers in the form of ‘A New Day’ and ‘Problems’, mean Andy is soon to establish himself fully into the world of Dance.

For the first track on this release, ‘A New Day’ Andy mixes up his trademark Electro sound, to replace it with a simple, grooving tribal rhythm, long, progressing build-ups with a mixture between long beautiful string sections and short stabs of echoing synths that create an overall bar and club track that will indeed be Big In Ibiza!

he second track, ‘Problems’ returns slightly to Andy BopH’s usual Electro style but with this same new and fresh sound of soothing, groovy beats with those beautiful synth sections. The sort of track that could be heard ringing in people’s ears on the beaches, and in the bars and clubs from sunset to sunrise from Ibiza Town to Miami and back again.

P.H.A.T.T - DAMAGE CONTROL

The Head Of Nukleuz Trance is back with his own unique style that can be heard in clubs all over the globe. Following up on his recent success he now presents Damage Control. A track that justifies the attention he’s received from the likes of Paul Van Dyk, Dave 202, Lost Witness and Dave Pearce - as dark, energetic and emotive as ever.

As is always with P.H.A.T.T’s style, the track subtly builds up developing more and more energy as it unravels, before unleashing its spine tingling riff and phatt basslines that create that hugely emotive and passionate trance sound as its meant to be.

First on the remixes is S.H.O.K.K, who while still sticking to the basics of the original, presents a much darker, harder track that keeps the original build up structure, finally, unleashing the monster riff to great effect.

The James Condon & Dan Identikal meets Vandal remix takes the sound to a different level. While once again keeping the harder sounds and the same continuously developing structure it presents a slightly more electro tinge and takes out the big trance riff to replace it with the electro bass and pumping beats.
