San Fransisco’s most extreme Hardcore Punk group, Flipper, got to New York’s CBGB’s in November, 1983, to play live, and record a new 18 tracks album, specifically for the Roir label and its series of cassettes.
18 years later, and with four bonus tracks from the same session, Roir releases this essential record again, digitally remastered for this CD.

Mike Ladd will without a doubt be counted as one of the artists who held a great influence on his times. Mike produces an unclassifiable music, in the good sense. Rock, soul, spoken word, blues, punk, psychedelic, all mixed up in a Hip Hop bath coming with percussive texts and a totally unique analogic production. He is to many people Beck’s musical black equivalent.
This album has a political value. Father Divine was a religious leader, who campaigned against the segregation in the US during the 60s.
But this album also is a tribute to the ROIR label’s sound in the 80s.
To be brief, Mike is a multi-faceted and multi-talented artist.

Over 15 years ago, the ROIR label, who specialized in cassettes, released the album Babes In Arms.
Wayne Kramer, guitarist and spokesman of the group, gathered a collection of tracks from his own cassettes, rare recordings of the group, mixes and remixes, experimental pieces that had not been worked on, and rehearsal tapes, all recorded in private between 1966 and 1971.
The Babes In Arms cassette was a commercial success, widely covered by the media. It became one of the best-selling cassettes of the ROIR label.
Remastered, it is now available on CD.
